Also artists who beat or otherwise abused their wives/girlfriends/lovers.

Is the latter more or less loathsome than having f-ed up politics?

Or are they both in the same league?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4318375667051435937.post-13431863849671127872008-07-22T19:20:00.000+01:002008-07-22T19:20:00.000+01:00I had not seen that article before. What strikes me, apart from the acceptance of virtually every anti-Semitic stereotype, is that it is incredibly muddled and confused. This is one of the problems with some, not all, engaged artists.

The source of the much of this more recent prejudice is the Orthodox sympathy with Serb nationalism. It is deeply conservative, despite being associated with the left, and triggers the anti-Americanism that was generated both by the support for the Colonels and Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Anti-Semitism runs deep in Orthodoxy.

I suppose you can comfort yourself with the fact that Wagner is now performed in Israel.

Nice clips though, thanks.The Plumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09244528534476387323noreply@blogger.com
