Britain to lose its only jazz radio station - again

Seems like I spoke too soon. After only 9 months in operation, theJazz is being shut down. Apparently its owners, GCap Media, owners of Classic FM, don't think digital radio can turn a profit. Never mind the station's steadily improving output, growing listenership, and praise from the critics. Just like Jazz FM before it, theJazz is being sacrificed on the altar of advertising profits. With the loss of theJazz, the number of radio stations in the UK dedicated to jazz is reduced yet again: from one to zero.
